Is Our Soul Just Energy or Something MORE? - EP14

In this transformative episode of Let Us Be Honest, we embark on a thought-provoking journey into the heart of spirituality. Have you ever wondered what your soul is truly made of or what it desires to experience? Join us as we explore deep questions like the nature of spiritual energy, the soul’s purpose, and whether our life experiences are shaping something much bigger. We dive into meditation, universal energy, and even share personal stories of profound moments that suggest there’s more to life than meets the eye. We challenge the idea that life is meaningless, offering a fresh perspective: What if we are here to give our souls the ultimate experience?

I was doing some reflection  on one of our more popular opinions between you and I about how when we die everything we've done in this life becomes completely meaningless. You know what I mean? And I brought up the thought  to you yesterday about  what if  it's

not. So if we are here to make our souls happy.

How do we keep them happy? How do we keep them happy? What do we do? What

do we do?  Do you have a soul from the moment of conception?

Well,  so,  psychologically

Hey guys! Hi! How's it going? What's up? What's up? Welcome on back to Let Us Be Honest. Yeah,

thanks for tuning in again. Yeah. Glad to have you.

Always happy.

Always happy. Yeah.

Today, we are going to do a little thought experiment  on Yeah. On a subject that we Both believe in and we enjoy but the other day we were talking about it We're like, where does this all lead to like what is the higher purpose?

Yeah.

Yeah. What

is the higher purpose?

Yeah, yeah, we're trying to figure out how to do an episode on spirituality. Okay, actually  Previously we did one while we were in the mountains Yeah, but unfortunately that didn't turn out the way we wanted it to so here we are.  We were in the coffee shop Mm hmm last night.

Yep, and And  Yeah,  we basically wanted to redo this episode on spirituality. We were kind of debating as to whether or not we wanted to go about  it in the same way as we did in the episode that didn't quite work out. Yep. And, long story short, no.  We decided to take a totally different approach and like Corey said, do kind of a, what did you call it?

Thought

experiment. Thought

experiment. Yeah. Yeah. And see where that takes us. Yeah. So instead of having an episode where we sit here and we tell you know, you know what, we believe in stuff like that. We, we want to go on a thought journey.

Yeah, we're going to go on a thought journey tonight here.

We're going to talk about, you know, a little bit about spirituality, what it is to us, um, without getting in too deep, but then we're going to dive into like, What is your soul, what's your soul made of, what does it do?

Do souls have experiences? Yeah, yeah. So I guess first, what is spirituality to you? Spirituality? Spirituality.  Someone asks you, are you a

spiritual person?  I mean, I. I do personally believe I am a spiritual person. Um,  I do believe there is some kind of universal energy. I don't necessarily relate it to, you know, a man in the sky.

Facts. But, um,  I definitely do think there is  Some kind of, like I said, universal energy that does somewhat  dictate how our lives  pan out, unfold,  play out. You know what I mean? I would agree. Yeah, um,  it's basically, yeah, connecting to that higher power. universal energy, you know, um, meditation. Yep. That's a big one.

Facts. Meditation's a big one for spirituality. Yep. Um,

yeah.  No, I totally agree. Um, I  think the first time. So I, I've never been locked into a religion per se. Yeah. But you know, I've always believed something. We're, we're here for a reason. And I think it was, Honestly, when I watched my grandfather pass away all those years ago, um,  he went through a medically assisted death.

Um, so we were there in the room when it happened and there's a very profound moment where as a person And then just like as the body of my grandfather  And like you could tell something in the room changed So it was for me at that point where I was like, okay, definitely more than just  who we are as a person exactly Yep.

Yep. Exactly

That  Is what it is to us. Yeah on a very surface level very very surface level. Yeah  What do our souls

do? What is it? What is our soul? You know what? I mean? That's such a good question. What is our soul? Where does it come from? Yeah How is it made because obviously our souls are made of energy totally energy.

Yep that comes from Somewhere. Yep, or something. Yep. You know what I mean energy energy I'm pretty sure energy doesn't just magically appear out of nowhere.

Nope. You know what I mean? Law of conservation of matter and energy. Yeah, matter can't be created or destroyed. Exactly. Whether you can see it or not.

So, I mean, I'm pretty confident that when we die, obviously our soul has to go somewhere. That energy has to go somewhere, right?  But back to the original question, what is

ours? Where does it come from? If you really think about that question, you're like, well, you can't see it, but you can't see light, but it exists.

You can't see electrons, atoms, like so many other parts of the world. We can't see they're happening all the time because our eyes can only see so much.  So yeah, there's it's, I believe it is those smaller particles and pieces that are just together in this little ball. It's a part of energy. Mm. Somehow, some way,  it's a part of us.

100%.

What that exactly is, we're not here to tell anybody what it is. Nope. Because we don't even know. We don't even know.  But we can tell you that we feel that we truly believe that it is some sort of little energy force. It's part of something greater.

Yes.

It really is. Yep.

Yeah. Ah. I was gonna say, I brought this up to you yesterday.

Yes. Um, I was doing some reflection.  On one of our more popular opinions between you and I about how when we die, everything we've done in this life becomes completely meaningless. You know what I mean? And I brought up the thought  to you yesterday about  What if  it's not? You know what I mean? What if this  is something our soul wanted to experience rather than just two people had sex, boom, we're here, and  everything we do up until when we die no longer matters.

Yeah, you don't want to live your whole life feeling like, oh, it doesn't matter what I do, it's, we're all gonna die anyway, and we're all gonna be sad, right? Which is what a lot of people think, but when you think about, like, does that make you more grateful?  It does. Knowing that you're living a life because some force out there wanted to experience it?

It does.

It definitely invokes a shift in mentality. Yeah. In regards to that, you know what I mean? It's, it definitely creates, I guess, a more grateful thought process. In regards to where you are in your life, how you got there, what you have, um,  the people around you, et cetera. You know what I mean? It really, I mean me personally, it really made me think about, you know, maybe tackling this life in a more positive way.

You know what I mean? Yep. Rather than constantly letting the little things get to me. Like,

oh, it's not gonna matter when I die anyway. Yeah. You

know, well, that was my mentality for the longest time. You know what I mean? I thought everything we did in this life no longer mattered once the heart stopped beating, once our physical body just poof.

Yep. You know what I mean? But like after I, like I said, after that reflection, it was like, well, shit, man.  What if it does matter on a bigger scale? I mean, don't get me wrong. Like I, like I just go, man, I'm just miserable at work. Right.

I mean, that's yeah.

But  It did kind of, like I said, invoke a little mental shift inside of me in regards to  actually, I guess,  executing gratitude, you know what I mean?

In regards to my life in general.

Yep.

It's crazy.

I've actually been thinking about it since we were talking about this episode last night, and I don't know if I've ever really thought of it that way.  And I mean, I'm a pretty happy person and I, I've always thought he is, he's a very optimistic person.

Very optimistic. Yeah. Facts. Thank you.  But yeah, I, I've been thinking about it and, and I'm sure is where a bunch of people could jump in and be like, that's gob talking. Yeah,  no,  that's, that's not even close to what we're talking about. This is not a serving. Some entity this is that is the Lord almighty.

He's here for all of us  But no, it's like doing the most with your life to lead to a positive experience for something that wanted it Yeah, you know, yeah exactly, which I think is so much more fun and exciting and  To what we were talking about yesterday  Like maybe your soul wants a certain amount of experience and life lived here on earth.

And then we talked about, um, people who have been in plane crashes or ships sinking and they die, but then some time goes by and this child comes along and they're like, I'm pretty sure I was a passenger on that ship. Their soul was

unfulfilled. Yeah. You know what I mean? So they come back from their past

life.

Yeah. Because their soul didn't get the experience they wanted. Mm hmm. So,

and I mean, in regards to,  for some of you, I might be getting a little weird here, but, um, in regards to even spirits after someone dies, spirits coming back and staying on this plane totally  is more often than not because they have unresolved issues in their physical life.

You know what I mean? So the fact that,  or I guess the point that you brought up about, um,  Someone dying. Tragic. Tragedy. Tragic death. Sad. And then coming back and remembering their past life. I mean, it kinda Mm hmm. Yep. It's kinda

the same thing.

Yep. You know what I mean? Yep. So And I mean You know what?

We might be onto something here.

I think so. And I think it's fun. It's great. Because it's a great thought process. It really is. And I mean, you and I have had discussions of family members and stuff that have passed away, and you know, you have moments where you're alone, but you don't feel like alone. Yeah. You know, or something weird will happen, and it'll just, I guess you could say ironically match up with what that loved one would have done, and then you have a moment where you're like, wait a minute, your grandma?

Oh my god.

I know. I actually like,

have those moments.  Like, I had like one or two of those moments even when I was still working in the restaurant. Like, I remember this one time being on call, and I was standing there, and everything around me just got super fucking cold.  Super fucking cold, and I just, something just kind of hit me, and I just kind of stood there, and I was like,  And I mean it's funny you say that because my grandma like my mom's mom had just recently passed like a couple months before that or something and I literally said to myself.

I was like, holy shit like grandma grandma, like I'm not even kidding that it was the weirdest

experience Yep.

Yeah.

Oh for I'd say probably but for like six months after my grandma passed away years ago Like I'd have moments driving home at night. Mm hmm. We're feel like Everything, like, just would go silent, and very calm,  while driving.

Like, the road noise would fade, the music would almost fade, and it was just like, calmness,  but like,  safe feeling. So I was always like, Grandma?  But yeah, you have these moments, and you're like, this, this can't not be a thing, you know?

And I mean, on the same topic, a little bit different, but on the same topic, I talked about this in the episode that unfortunately didn't work out, but, um,  on my dad's side of the family,  his mom and her mom,  so my grandma and my great grandma both had  spiritual experiences as they were passing, or like minutes before, you remember I was telling you about this?

Yep, yep. Um.  Yeah, so they were both, you know, on their deathbed, lying there in the hospital, and they both, it was,  different hospitals, different rooms, you know what I mean? But it was, it was uncanny, my dad said, they both kinda, they looked up into the same corner of the room, both of them, and they said, who's that man?

They said, who's that man up there in the corner of the room?  Right? Santa?  But they were looking at the ceiling, in the corner of the ceiling, and they were like, Who's that man? Both of them.

So, going with that, because I've also heard stories like that, where people have those last couple minutes, just before they pass, like they see some sort of thing.

What if the person they see is like, spiritual energy manifesting in the ceiling? To look like something familiar which to us would be a person.

Oh a

hundred

percent. So

like what if  What if it's a spirit what if spirits have friends  What if your spirit or their spirit knew whoever that was? But just manifest as the person it was or used to be  To allow it to make more sense  Because that's what the spirit knew

in in regards to like You  Energy and stuff.

I mean, spiritually, they would all be connected, wouldn't they? You would think so. Yeah, right? So Or do some

spirits get along better than others?  Because sometimes you have friendships, and  Sometimes you have friendships that form incredibly fast, or you just click with people instantly. Yes! And it's almost unexplainable.

Yes! Yeah.  So maybe the spirits we have inside of us knew each other before or had a connection or has a different connection  because different waves of energy also have different connections.

Maybe man, like I brought up, I think it was last night, like the, the memories that our soul has from this life or whatever stick with us spiritually.

And I can't remember where I was going with that because I lost my train of thought.  But it was related to what you were saying.

Well, I mean, if it's from last night, we were being attacked by balloons, so.  Long story, we were attacked by balloons.  Who knew you could do a children's birthday at a coffee shop, but I've seen it all

now.

They

reserved the table. I know, it was the weirdest thing.  For a young child's birthday. Yeah.  They were just running rampant around the entire coffee shop. In a coffee shop? Literally. Blowing balloons up everywhere, screaming, you know, throwing sticks at people. You remember that?

And here we are just trying to talk about spirits.

Seriously. And they're all like, ah, balloons.  But, yeah, I guess to that, also we were talking about yesterday, like, you know you have those gaps where someone dies tragically.  A number of years later, a new person is born and they're like, Oh, I think I was that person.  We're also discussing  what do you think happens to the spirit in between that time?

Like, and if our spirits are energy and they want to have an experience while they're transitioning from one person to another, are they something else?

Like, are they recharging?

Yeah.

Are they regathering energy in order to be able to manifest that again?

Or are they a cat? That lives a short life, right?

Are they a dog that lives a short life? Are they

a plant? Yeah. Plants are living.

Yep.

And apparently they scream when you cut them. Did you know that? Yeah. Apparently they emit a sound we can't hear. Yeah. Trees do too.  I hear trees

though. I hear trees. That's fair. But I mean, and trees talk through the roots.

Yeah. So

that's another thing. Yeah. Well, we've talked about it a lot and like how important we think. Reconnecting and being in nature is because there's just something about it like we live on a planet in any universe Mm hmm that is very Energy driven. Yeah, like there is life and energy and everything around us.

Yeah, even when you look at planets We're like, oh, there's no life on Mars not life that we know  Functioning the way that we know it to be who says it has to be exactly what this is. Yeah, right Yeah, we live on a very oh, yeah connected Filled

universe if you're in a forest, I guarantee you all those trees are Communicating.

Oh, yeah roots beneath you. All of them are talking and it's like what is it? It's like a like electric signals Yep. Yeah. Yep  Electric like what is it?  Synapses, yep in the roots. Yep. Yeah

Yep, they're judging what you're wearing. They are, they can see you.  Darn trees. But yeah, there's so many things that are connected, like why,  and this is why we went down this thought path of like, what if our soul is more?

What if, what if it is something that wanted to have the experience, like you said, of being human? So now we're here just trying to figure out what it is.  To be human right for our souls, right? What is the meaning of life to give your soul a great time?  That's the meaning of life, yeah,

I mean that just adds a whole nother perspective to life, you know what I mean  It adds more meaning it does add more meaning because it's like yeah, I don't know

And it feels very like self motivated Because it's like, oh, I have a little energy inside of me that just wants to live a good life.

And yeah, and you're just like, I truly want to show it the best life. Yeah, you know what I mean? Yeah,

you're not doing it to appease some person in the sky. Exactly. Yeah,

it's you're literally doing it to appease yourself. Yep. Your soul.  Yeah. I think. That's another, is it actually yours?

It's ours for the time that we have.

That's what I'm saying.  It's ours for the time that we have it.

I don't wanna say we belong to it. Is this like borrowed energy  or am I just like going way too down the rabbit hole? Is it the lens energy? No, I think it's, I think it's purposeful, purposeful, purposeful energy. Yeah.

We still don't know from wire. No, we haven't figured that out. The universe is full of

a lot of stuff, so

we as a human species.

Don't know enough about the universe to even begin to start to figure that out. We're not even anywhere close To that.

So if we are here to make our souls happy,  how do we keep them happy? How do we keep what do we do? We do.  How do you please a little energy?  That you can't control but you're here to give it the best time ever.

I Mean, I think that

involves a little introspection. Yes, it does. You know what I mean?  because  I don't know, certain things you do throughout your life or certain experiences you have ignite certain feelings within you, right? And that's obviously a sign that  it's something  your soul is or wanted to experience.

Yeah,  this actually makes me think of a full piggyback on what sets your heart on fire.  Maybe it's not what sets your heart on fire.  Maybe it's what ignites your soul.

Maybe that's where all these episodes have been leading to.

Damn.

Damn. Whoa. Yeah. What ignites your soul?  Maybe it's not a feeling of the heart. Maybe it's the feeling of what your soul wants to experience. It's what your soul's

telling you, man. Yeah.  And I literally just said that.

Yeah.

Fucking hell.

I know.

This is why it's very important to go do things you love, like going and camping in the mountains. Like we did this summer. Yeah. If, and have experiences while in those mountains, where you connect with nature. Because it does shift your perspective sometimes. Completely. It might not be right away, it could be a month later.

Where you're like, wait a minute,

what is this? Cause that, out there, holds a different energy. Totally. Than here in the city. Yeah. You know what I mean? And you can, you will notice at some point. Like you said, it might even be a month later. Yep. When all the stress of the city is eating at you and you're like, holy shit.

When I was out there, man, it was great. I didn't, I didn't feel nothing. I was peaceful. Yep. I was relaxed.

That feels natural. Yeah. This feels constructed.

Yes. Constructed. Controlled.

Yep. And we, and we've said it so many times on this podcast and sometimes it feels like it's a little beat down, but honestly, the older I get, the more true it is like reconnecting with nature, being in wild surroundings is so.

Healthy. Exactly. And so necessary. And that's

why we talk about it so much. You know what I mean? Like Corey said, you might think like, Oh my God, shut up about the nature. Here comes that nature again. Right? But at the same time,  You have to get out there and experience it. Yep. You know what I mean? Truly experience it.

Like actually give yourself the opportunity to put your phone down, get away from civilization  and truly experience what it is to reconnect with nature, because I tell you what, it is a mind altering experience.

And even if you don't want to be alone, but you go alone, take something that will help you connect with nature.

Another massive fundamental part of every society that's existed. And that's music. If you just go out to the middle of the woods and just blast some music or listen to your favorite, like, cause through every culture throughout human time, music or some sort of beat rhythm has always been part of who we are.

So I think music is a massive piece of that as well. Like when it comes to reconnecting. A hundred percent, but I'll tell you

what,

get out in

nature, light a fire, set up a lawn chair and start blasting some music.  You are going to feel great in no time. No booze, no drugs needed.  Literally. It's, you will feel great in no time.

If we're here to do what ignites our soul and give it a good time,  if it's part of the bigger, natural  energy world that we live in,  it makes sense why music and getting out in nature, like, feels recharging.

Hundred percent. Hundred percent.

And that's how you keep your soul happy. You got it. That's

all

energy too.

Yeah. It's the energy feeding off energy.

Well, we

were just, that's what energy fucking

does.

And we were just talking about the trees and how they're screaming and they're listening.  Yep.

Cause I mean, back to the spirits, like  their energy, obviously like ghosts, you know what I mean? Yep. Yep. And in order for them to manifest into what you see.

They need that energy. A lot of it. They need to feed off that energy. You know what I mean? And that's even in regards to, like, the evil stuff. Yeah, that's fair too. Like, the demons and the stuff, like, they really feed off that. Like, the anger, the sadness, any negative emotions, they will eat that shit up and they will haunt the shit out of you.

Yep.  Like that is straight and you might be looking at your screen right now or listening to the radio in your car or

whatever And you're like these guys are on crack. What are they talking about? But whenever someone has like an addiction or a bad vice that they want to get rid of what do they call it?

They're inner demons. Yeah, exactly. They live in there Yeah But now thinking about like we're here to have this fun experience for our spirit for our little soul Does that not change things?

Why do you think they want your soul? Because that's what they're here for. They're here for a human soul. They're here to possess a human soul to either experience what it's like to be human.

Someone owes Satan a debt.

Everything has a positive and a negative. Electrical fields, magnetic fields. So if our spirits are here to have a happy good time, there has to be a negative side to it too. Everything has balance. That's the other thing. Yeah. You know what? I

just, this has made me realize that everything is just energy feeding off energy.

Yep. Feeding off energy. Yep. Feeding off energy.

Yep. It's like the two wolves thing. Like which one are you gonna feed? Yeah. If you've ever heard that analogy. I have.

Yep. Yeah.

But instead, it's your soul, it's your spirit. What are you gonna feed it? The good or the bad? We are getting let it in. We are getting somewhere.

I know this is going, or you

might have already known this and you're just being nice to me and

shit like that. But hey, you know what? Wanting to have a human experience never thought of that.

Mm hmm.

It does give a different sense of prayer And it also

makes you think is there like a large collection of souls somewhere watching us being like hey I want to do that.

Do we have an audience of souls right an

audience? We can't see because it's a different spiritual Yeah, yeah, you know  and our eyes can only see so much so A recap, because if you listen to this whole thing and you're like, how do we piece this together?  Let's just quickly recap it. So, A, what is spirituality to us?

I think we can rest comfortably in saying it's the belief that there is an energy within us that is part of something bigger. Yes. That is not tied to some deity. Yes. Yes  What is our soul some form of energy within us?

Yes with an

unknown origin Yeah that we we don't know where it came from. Yeah,  which then leads into what is that energy part of  don't know

yet

Yeah, easiest guess is the universe that we live in.

Yeah  We just know it's here. Yeah, and the most important question  Are our souls here? Because they wanted to have a human experience. So we are living  to give them that experience  Which is a fun thought it is a fun thought. I think it gives things more purpose. Mm hmm I already felt pretty purposeful.

But now I'm like, hey you little buddy another question,

okay When do you when when does when does the soul choose you when do you develop a soul when you're like this? Or when you come out of the birth canal. Do you have a soul from the moment of conception?

Well,  so,  psychologically,  there is a reason people don't remember anything before.

Usually the age 3 is most common. Some people can flex about age 2. But there is a gap of your life, where you're grown up, you're just a little baby. Where you will remember nothing. A lot of people say, oh, it's because you're growing, you're changing, teething, severe pain that your mind just will not remember.

Plus, your mind's growing. So,  that's the question. When do you get your soul? Is it when you start having memories? Is that when it clicks in? Is it there? Does it adopt you? Does it take you on? Is it? Or

maybe it's always there and you just can't truly utilize it until

you're older. Ooh, till your brain has a certain capacity?

Fair. Who knows? Who knows? When do you get your soul? Right? That's a good question too. So, when do you get your soul? Answer that in the comments below. Um,  and how do you keep your soul healthy? Being out in nature, resonating with the planet that we're part of. Mm hmm. And healthy relationships. Yeah, good people.

Yeah. Yeah, we talked about that last night, we didn't mention them. Right. But we kind of did, and like, maybe that, you know, when  you just form a friendship really fast. Yeah, and then it just clicks. It just clicks. And you're just like, best friends. Yeah, and you're  I feel like I've known this person for a long time.

Yeah. Maybe it's because your soul's known that person, that soul, a long time. Ooh, that's an interesting thought. Well, what about like, when you meet certain people, like younger people, and you're like, oh my gosh. You're a brand new soul. You have no idea what's going on in life. But then you meet some people and you're like, I got an old soul.

I got some experience under their belt. Have you ever met any of those old soul people? Yes, I have. Yeah, see? Yes, I have.  So here we are trying to wrap up an episode, but just bringing more things to light. Old souls versus new souls.  Do souls expire at some point? Does the negative energy break up souls? So the new positive ones have to reform.

And that's what a new soul is compared to an old soul.  Yeah.

Hmm.

Come back for spirituality part two where we will have none of the answers.  And even more questions. Yeah. And even more questions.

Energy. Energy.  Energy has to go somewhere.

No matter what, right? Yep.  It can't be created or destroyed. Same with matter.

Yeah. So as you can see, we could just keep this going all night long.

Yeah.  Because when you really start thinking about it, you're like, oh, shit.  What could it be? What do they do? I mean, we'll probably have a part two later on in the future. We'll probably have a follow up. Yeah. Maybe we'll discover some answers in the next year.

Come up with some more ideas. Yeah.  Maybe

one of us will have a near death experience. I hope not.

Or maybe we'll know someone who does that we can interview.  Hey, right on, that'd be cool.  Yeah, I'd prefer if neither of us had a near death experience.

I don't need more devastation in my life. Yeah, that's fair.  So yeah, in the comments below, Yes. What is spirituality to you? What do you think the energy would possess as part of? How do you keep your soul healthy  and  do you think souls have experiences and choose  this experience? Yeah  Yeah,  yeah. Yeah. All right, cool.

Well, we'll uh, have a good night. Have a good night Thanks for

tuning in guys. We hope you tune in again next week. Always love having you

hope we uh Inspired some thoughts on this episode.

Yeah, and If you now think we're crackheads

put that in the comments too. Yeah, all press is good press all

press is good press You  Tony Stark.

Tony Stark. Iron Man. Alright. Okay.  I don't know. Please edit that out. I don't even know what that was. Bye.

Bye.
